Safe Communities Hill Country 7th Annual Golf Tournament!

The Dufferin County Safe Community Task Force was founded in June 1999 through an initiative of The Highlands Section of the Industrial Accident Prevention Association, area emergency services and concerned citizens. In 2004 we expanded to include New Tecumseh & Caledon & became Safe Communities of the Hill Country. The Safe Community concept is founded on the principal that every community should be a safe place to live, learn, work and play. This is done through the joint efforts of community service and injury prevention partners who identify high-risk areas and develop strategies to bring awareness and education to those at risk. We receive no government funding and our programs are paid for through our fundraising efforts.
The Safe Community Concept is not new; in fact, there are presently 31 designated “Safe Communities” in Ontario, and 53 in Canada. The Safe Communities Foundation is an affiliate of the World Health Organization of Geneva Switzerland.
